In a country where few compositors have the opportunity to see all his/her work gathered in a CD or in a notebook, literarily printing in space and time the artistic expression, the compositor Nilson Lombardi at the age of seventy-six had the pleasure to release in frebruary 14th his first CD and book entitled “Nilson Lombardi – Full Work”. The work organized by the singer Marcia Mah was sponsored by the Law of Cultural Incentive of Sorocaba, a city located 100 km from the capital of the state of São Paulo. The CD has the participation of interpreters such as Eudóxia de Barros, Fábio luz, Atílio Mastrogiovanni, Lúcia Bismara, the Culture Symphonic Orchestra under the regency of the maestro Lutero Rodrigues, beyond Nilson Lombardi himself. The book, with 408 pages, edited by the publisher TCM Comunicação (www.artedagente.com.br – 015-222-4003) has a piano solo, piano and singing, camera music, symphonic orchestra and coral singing, with a preamble of the musicologist Aquille Picchi. It is available in the main book and music stores of Sorocaba and its region.

Disciple of Camargo Guarnieri, the compositor and pianist Nilson Lombardi, followed his steps in what regards the research of national and folkloric aspects, incorporating to it element from his erudite formation. Awarded for his “Miniature Cycle”, “Folkloric lullaby” and “Ponteios” he is known internationally, being mentioned in encyclopedias such as “The History of Brazilian Music” of Vasco Mariz, a Salvat Spanish publication and the American “Who is who in International Music”, praised by important newspapers such as the Washington Post and Lê Progres. In parallel to his career as a musician and author, he has developed intense activity as an educator and cultural director. He is the founder of the Brazilian Pro-Music Society, Assessor of the maestro Eleazar de Carvalho, Artistic Director and Titular Regent of the Symphonic Orchestra of the State of São Paulo and professor of São Paulo State University, Unesp. Awarded last year in the erudite music category by São Paulo’s Association of Art Critic, Nilson Lombardi still composes and advises students in his studio with the same enthusiasm for music that has always motivated him.
